Job summary

Bedrock Robotics Inc is seeking a Data Operations Lead to own data collection for the fleet, ensuring terabyte-scale daily data is reliably captured and delivered. You will define data collection strategies and the data center approach as we scale across sites and machine types.

You'll lead field operations for autonomous and Bedrock Intelligence machines, establish SLAs, monitor data yield, and partner with Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering to build scalable, economical data services.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years in operations, field deployment, or program leadership.
• Experience managing non-exempt employees or contingent staff.
• Track record owning operational metrics for a physical fleet at scale, including SLA design and vendor performance management.
• Experience running operations for a customer-facing product against committed SLAs.
• Experience partnering with Engineering or Product as the operational voice in platform and roadmap decisions.
• Comfort in an early-stage environment, with disciplined playbook creation.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customer executives, dealer partners, and internal leadership.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% to job sites, dealer facilities, and partner locations.

Responsibilities

• Own ongoing data collection support for the fleet ensuring machines in the field reliably produce, retain, and deliver terabyte-scale daily data volumes.
• Own field operations across Autonomous and Bedrock Intelligence machines at customer and engineering product standards with higher monitoring and data completeness.
• Define efficient data collection methods that enable engineers with the critical data they need to mature models.
• Own data yield as a first-class operational metric and address data loss in the pipeline.
• Build an overall economic service by ensuring SLAs are clear, costs understood, and network strategy optimized.
• Own field-side reliability of the data pipeline offload, connectivity, storage, and handoff.
• Translate product requirements into field-executable standards; translate field constraints back into commitments.
• Partner with Infrastructure, Product, Engineering and Data teams on tooling and roadmap to reduce manual effort as fleet grows.
• Work with IT to define data center needs for efficient data upload and onboarding of new data centers.
• Define labor and 3rd party strategies to execute data collection and monitor performance.
• Own data operations org design, labor strategies, and hiring for data technicians and couriers.
• Build relationships with 3rd party service partners and oversee performance.
• Bridge between field operations and internal engineering teams who are customers of the data.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure adherence to site rules.
