Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Manager, Solutions Architects in the San Francisco Bay area to lead a distributed team serving enterprise customers on the West Coast. You will guide the team to act as trusted advisors, validate GitLab Enterprise Edition, and drive successful adoption across the software development lifecycle.

You will hire, coach, and retain top talent, set clear expectations, and model hands-on leadership in solution design, technical presentations, and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring technical teams and providing constructive feedback.
• Experience leading enterprise-focused pre-sales or IT professionals.
• Ability to collaborate with managers and cross-functional partners on GTM strategies.
• Strong presentation and communication skills for technical and business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and CI/CD concepts.
• Understanding cloud computing concepts and adoption patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed team of intermediate and senior Solutions Architects supporting Enterprise customers in the West territory.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members through regular feedback and career support.
• Grow and retain a high-performing team by hiring thoughtfully and onboarding effectively.
• Engage in key customer opportunities as a Solutions Architect from discovery through adoption.
• Drive the quality and consistency of evaluations, demos, and proofs of concept.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing to align technical and commercial motions.
• Own team execution by defining and tracking KPI and communicating progress to leadership.
