Job summary

Centene Corporation is seeking a senior leader to manage a team responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex enterprise software solutions. The role collaborates with data modelers, architects, analysts, and SMEs to deliver end-to-end design, development, testing, and support across the enterprise.

You will oversee a team of Senior Application Development Engineers, drive program scope, schedule, and budget, and mentor staff while coordinating with 3rd party vendors.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience, including prior management experience.
• Experience with Application Development; Applications Architecture, DevOps industry best practices.
• Knowledge of Agile Software Development.
• Hands-on background with databases and data governance concepts.
• Healthcare payer/provider operations or provider data management experience preferred.
• Collaboration and team building skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees a team of Senior Application Development Engineers on large-scale projects.
• Leads scope, schedule, and budget planning with clear progress tracking.
• Decides on project outcomes based on reported progress.
• Establishes training and career development for developers.
• Manages 3rd party development vendors to standards and performance.
• Identifies risks and participates in mitigation activities.
• Communicates with Application and Infra Management during service transitions.
• Partners with Security and SRE to follow policies.
• Leads design/development of PoC and prototype environments.
• Handles hiring/training and conducts performance/salary reviews.
• Sets objectives and delegates tasks to ensure stability of development activities.
• Develops staff capabilities and knowledge of industry best practices.
• Holds teams accountable to meet quality and timeline objectives.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
