Job summary

Serval, Inc. is seeking an engineering leader to shape the technical direction of our AI-native automation platform. You’ll partner with the CTO and CEO, owning architecture decisions and team building.

You will translate the roadmap into executable plans, drive on-time delivery, and establish engineering excellence, security, and reliability.

This role offers high visibility across IT, HR, Finance, and lines of business as we scale and deliver production-grade workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Proven ability to scale engineering teams in fast-moving environments.
• Strong architectural judgment and hands-on production shipping.
• Experience translating product goals into technical plans and execution.
• High standards for reliability, security, and velocity.
• Exceptional communication and ability to lead through ambiguity.
• CS degree or equivalent practical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Define engineering strategy, architecture direction, and execution plan with leadership.
• Lead, hire, and develop an exceptional engineering team.
• Own delivery of the engineering roadmap with on-time, high-quality ships.
• Uphold best practices: code quality, testing, security, incident response.
• Establish cross-functional rhythms for excellent execution and user experience.
• Set metrics for engineering effectiveness and manage technical debt.
• Drive platform performance, scalability, and maintainability as usage grows.
