Job summary

Serval is seeking an engineering leader to shape the technical direction of the platform and build a high-impact team. You’ll influence architecture, roadmap delivery, and organizational culture while partnering with the CTO and CEO to translate strategy into action.

You’ll lead a growing engineering organization, ensure high-quality production systems, and drive performance, reliability, and security across the platform as usage expands.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with time leading teams.
• Proven ability to build and scale engineering teams in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong technical foundation and architectural judgment with experience shipping production systems.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally and translating product goals into technical plans.
• High standards for reliability, security, and developer velocity.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CTO and CEO to define engineering strategy, architecture direction, and execution plan.
• Lead, hire, and develop an engineering team and scale the organization.
• Own delivery of the engineering roadmap with on-time, high-quality outputs.
• Set and uphold best practices across code quality, testing, and incident response.
• Build cross-functional operating rhythms for excellent execution and user experience.
• Establish metrics and systems for planning, estimation, on-call, retrospectives, debt management.
• Drive continuous improvement of platform performance, scalability, and maintainability.
