Job summary

Oscar Health is seeking a Senior Director of Data Science to define and drive the strategic vision for advanced modeling and analytics. You will lead multiple teams, partner with senior leaders, and shape enterprise data initiatives that support Oscar's long-term goals.

Based in a hybrid or remote-capable setup across major markets, you will influence cross-functional data strategy, design scalable systems, and mentor senior data professionals while ensuring ethical data practices and regulatory

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive industry experience with leadership
• 8+ years of experience querying and analyzing large datasets using SQL, R, or Python
• 8+ years building advanced data models and using sophisticated analytics methods
• 5+ years of progressive people management experience, including managing managers

Responsibilities

• Define and champion strategic roadmap for data science domain and translate goals into actionable plans
• Lead multiple data science teams including managers and managers of managers
• Influence executive-level stakeholders to align data initiatives with enterprise objectives
• Oversee development of advanced data pipelines, ML models, and analytical frameworks
• Drive enterprise-wide delivery of complex data science solutions through design, governance, and mentorship
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the department
• Communicate strategic contributions and resource needs to executive leadership for visibility and alignment
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and ethical data practices
• Other duties as assigned
