Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Business Intelligence Manager in the Specialty Equipment division to lead a data analytics team and translate data into strategic insights. You will partner with underwriting, services, finance, and IT to drive metrics and analytics delivery.

The role requires 7+ years of analytics leadership, a data science background, and hands-on SQL plus BI tools proficiency. On-site four days a week with one remote day, travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data-related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of analytics or data science leadership (including people management).
• Experience translating business strategy into analytics roadmaps and deliverables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to handle ambiguous problems.
• Working knowledge of SQL and at least one modeling or scripting language.
• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
• Willing to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the data analytics team; sets vision, roadmap, and delivery priorities.
• Partner with senior leaders across underwriting, service, finance, and IT to identify metrics and insights.
• Oversee delivery of analytics roadmap, including data sources, tools, and capabilities.
• Design, develop, and deploy analytics products, dashboards, predictive models, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Collaborate with shared services and external vendors for practical, integrated solutions.
• Communicate results to leadership through clear narratives and executive storytelling.
• Monitor model performance, data quality, and controls; address issues risking decisions.
• Coach and develop a small team of data experts; support career growth.
• Champion data literacy and train teams to embed analytics in daily workflows.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
