Job summary

Maersk in Florham Park, New Jersey seeks a Head of CHB Operations, Northeast, to lead a large-scale Customs House Brokerage operation across multiple locations, ensuring safe, compliant, customer-focused, and efficient execution of customs services.

Reporting to the Head of US Customs, you will guide 50–75+ colleagues through a leadership structure, drive workforce planning and organizational effectiveness, and partner with Compliance, Commercial, Finance, HR, Technology, and Operations

Qualifications

• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker required.
• 10+ years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or global trade operations.
• Experience leading large-scale operational teams across multi-site environments.
• Strong background in workforce planning, cost control, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-site Customs Brokerage Operations across the Northeast Area.
• Develop and coach operational leaders while building a high-performing organization.
• Drive workforce planning, staffing strategies, capacity management, and organizational effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strategic customer relationships to support retention and growth.
• Monitor operational performance via KPI management, productivity analysis, and service reviews.
• Partner with Compliance, Commercial, Finance, HR, Technology, and Operations Excellence teams to achieve objectives.
• Leverage technology, automation, and AI solutions to improve productivity and outcomes.
