RTX is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Engineering Manager in Cedar Rapids, IA to lead architecture, design, verification and integration of next-generation avionics software products with civil certification.

You will apply best practices, supervise execution teams, and drive process improvements on complex hardware/software platforms. The role requires deep knowledge of software development, certification processes (DO-178), and leadership across cross-functional teams; onsite work in Cedar

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 10 years of experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Experience leading software or FPGA developments in certification environments with EV management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and lead teams to meet civil certification requirements.
• Guide scope, schedule, and budget for design activities and manage program milestones.
• Lead bids/proposals and oversee personnel development and staffing plans.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
