Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Ohio is seeking an experienced Director of Service Operations to lead and grow our Cincinnati-based commercial HVAC service business. You will set strategy and oversee day-to-day operations, dispatch, scheduling, technician productivity, and customer service while driving financial performance.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of leadership in commercial HVAC service, experience with field and office teams, and a proven record of improving margins and building high‑performing

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive leadership in commercial HVAC or mechanical service operations.
• Experience leading field and office service teams.
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC service, PMAs, repairs, scheduling, dispatch, and customer support.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting, P&L, labor planning, and KPIs.
• Proven ability to lead managers, develop employees, and build high-performing teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Systems, or related field.
• Base Salary: $130,000-$150,000.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day performance and strategic direction of our commercial HVAC service operation.
• Coach, develop, and hold accountable service managers, administrative leaders, and operational teams.
• Oversee performance across dispatch, scheduling, technician utilization, field execution, purchasing, job closeout, and billing.
• Manage and improve service revenue, gross margin, labor productivity, utilization, backlog, forecasting, and overall profitability.
• Develop staffing and workforce plans that align technician capacity with customer demand and business growth.
• Partner with Service Sales to support preventive maintenance agreements, repair opportunities, quoted work, customer commitments, and account retention.
• Use operational and financial data to identify trends, solve problems, and improve business performance.
• Strengthen processes that improve technician productivity, communication, scheduling, customer responsiveness, and service delivery.
• Resolve complex customer and operational issues while building long-term relationships with key customers.
• Partner with Safety leadership to reinforce strong safety practices and expectations throughout the Service organization.
• Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, continuous improvement, and employee development.
• Help establish priorities and execute initiatives that support the continued growth of the Service business.
