Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a senior technology leader to shape the roadmap for Commercial and Business Banking technology platforms, including sales, lending, and credit workflows. This role reports to the CIO of Commercial Technology and guides multiple engineering teams in delivering modern, secure, scalable solutions.

The position requires relocation to Buffalo, NY and a hybrid work arrangement. You will build strategic partnerships with risk, operations, and product teams while modernizing legacy

Qualifications

• Combined minimum of 15 years of higher education and/or work experience.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering and/or architecture experience.
• Minimum 11 years of large technology management and/or program leadership experience, including people leadership.
• Minimum 5+ years of managerial experience leading technical teams and senior technology leaders.
• Deep understanding of Commercial and/or Business Banking technology, particularly in sales, lending, credit, origination, underwriting, servicing, and workflow platforms.
• Proven experience delivering complex, multi-system technology initiatives across multiple business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC), architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise delivery practices.
• Demonstrated success leading multiple teams across different business domains and influencing in a matrixed environment.
• Experience delivering solutions using Agile methodologies.
• Experience delivering solutions using the Scaled Agile Framework.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology roadmap for Commercial and Business Banking Sales, Lending, and Credit platforms.
• Lead multiple engineering teams building, integrating, modernizing, and supporting critical platforms.
• Partner with Risk, Audit, Compliance, and Information Security teams to ensure adherence to standards and readiness for review.
• Drive innovation and modernization across Sales, Lending, and Credit ecosystems.
• Oversee delivery timelines, budgets, priorities, and resource allocation.
• Maintain high standards of system performance, reliability, and scalability.
