Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Director of Engineering - Cloud Compute to lead the development of foundational IaaS offerings and accelerate a carbon-reducing, AI-focused cloud platform. You will mentor engineers, drive complex programs, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable compute solutions for AI workloads.

You will shape roadmaps, guide architecture decisions, and recruit and develop world-class engineers while maintaining high availability, security, and performance

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering management experience and 10+ years in software engineering.
• Deep understanding of Compute products (CPU, GPU, ASIC accelerators) and how customers consume them.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and cloud computing.
• Familiarity with AI/ML workloads and how they drive compute requirements for the data center.
• Proven experience building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and architectures.
• Knowledge of best practices across the SDLC, code reviews, source control, testing, and operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud compute engineering at Crusoe Cloud and define the long-term road map and strategy for the team.
• Guide architecture decisions, design/process reviews, and implementation tasks.
• Scale the team through onboarding, hiring managers, and defined processes.
• Stay current with cloud software trends to maintain Crusoe’s market-leading offerings.
• Drive the hiring and retention strategy to attract and develop top talent.
