Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Director of Avionics Hardware to lead the hardware engineering org responsible for avionics systems across New Glenn and Lunar programs. You’ll own the full hardware lifecycle from concept to production, directing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to deliver flight-certified hardware on demanding schedules.

You will set technical strategy, drive qualification, and manage interfaces with GNC, vehicle systems, and test teams, ensuring on-time, compliant hardware.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• MS degree preferred in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive avionics hardware development experience.
• Experience with environmental qualification and high-reliability hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own avionics hardware baseline and drive design decisions and reviews.
• Lead mixed-signal board design, power electronics, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Define hardware verification, qualification strategy, and test procedures.
• Manage production transition, Make/Buy decisions, and supplier coordination.
• Develop and execute multi-year hardware roadmap and risk mitigation.
