Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Director of Avionics Hardware to lead the hardware engineering org responsible for design, qualification, and delivery of avionics systems for New Glenn and Lunar applications. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team across electrical engineers, FPGA designers, PCB layout, and actuation electronics, delivering flight-certified hardware on demanding timelines.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Diverse avionics/electronics hardware development experience.
• Experience owning hardware through full development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and environmental qualification.

Responsibilities

• Own the avionics hardware baseline and act as engineering authority.
• Lead electrical design for mixed-signal boards and power electronics.
• Define hardware verification and qualification strategy.
• Review schematics and approve component substitutions.
• Coordinate with GNC and vehicle teams on actuator interfaces.
• Lead hardware design-to-production transition and DFMA.
• Track program status and report risks to leadership.
