Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Director of Avionics Hardware to lead the hardware engineering organization responsible for avionics systems supporting New Glenn and Lunar applications. Own the full hardware design lifecycle from concept through production support, managing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and specialists.

You will set technical strategy, drive qualification programs, and ensure on-time delivery under demanding schedules while maintaining safety and reliability as core priorities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace or related engineering discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive avionics/electronics hardware experience.
• 5+ years of direct people management in multi-discipline teams.
• Experience owning hardware through full development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Own avionics hardware baseline and architecture decisions.
• Lead electrical design for mixed-signal boards and power electronics.
• Define hardware verification and qualification strategy with cross-team partners.
• Coordinate hardware design-to-manufacturing transition and supplier QoS.
• Manage schedules, risks, and program status with executive visibility.
