Job summary

Relativity Applied Science is hiring a seasoned leader to manage and grow an applied AI/ML team in a remote/hybrid setup in the United States. You will shape architectures, review designs, and own end-to-end AI system readiness from framing through production monitoring.

You will deploy production-ready AI systems, guide the team through rigorous evaluation and safety checks, and collaborate with product, engineering, and legal teams to scale impactful solutions across matters.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS or a quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 6+ years in applied AI/ML, including at least 1 year as a people leader.
• Fluency with modern generative AI as a component of larger systems, with sound judgment about reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of applied scientists: hire, coach, set direction, and develop people toward their best work.
• Shape architectures, review designs and evaluations, and work closely with researchers to lead by example.
• Own AI system readiness end-to-end, from problem framing to production monitoring, ensuring dependable and defensible outputs.
• Choose the right problems and decide where to invest, from agentic assistants to large-scale review across matters.
• Partner with product, engineering, design, customer-facing teams, and legal experts to move ideas from proof-of-concept to scalable production.
• Translate technical nuance into decisions for leadership and customers; represent Relativity at conferences and events.
