Job summary

Relativity Applied Science is hiring a senior leader to guide a team of applied scientists building AI systems for legal data challenges. You will own end-to-end delivery, from problem framing to production monitoring, ensuring reliability and defensibility in real-world use.

We seek a candidate with deep AI/ML expertise, hands-on architecture experience, and a track record of shipping production systems. Hybrid remote work and a competitive compensation package are provided.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS or quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years in applied AI/ML, including 1 year in people leadership.
• Deep experience building production AI systems and lifecycle ownership.
• Fluency with modern generative AI in larger systems; strong judgment of capabilities.
• Strong software engineering skills and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of applied scientists and set direction.
• Shape architectures, review designs, and contribute hands-on to hard problems.
• Ensure AI system readiness end-to-end from framing to production monitoring.
• Prioritize problems and decide where to invest for impact.
• Collaborate with product, eng, design, and customer teams to scale ideas.
• Communicate technical nuance clearly to teams, leaders, and customers.
• Represent Relativity at industry events and with customers.
