1Password is seeking a Director of Analytics Engineering to lead the roadmap, architecture, and team responsible for trusted data foundations across Marketing, Finance, Product, Analytics, and Data Engineering. You'll shape data modeling, testing, documentation, governance, and availability while remaining hands-on on critical dbt models.

This remote role covers the US and Canada with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture.
• Experience leading and developing analytics teams.
• Strong SQL and dbt experience with advanced data modeling and multi-environment deployment.
• Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling (Kimball/star schema) in B2B SaaS.
• Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Experience establishing semantic layer strategies and trusted metrics.
• Ability to translate business priorities into a data platform roadmap and communicate with senior stakeholders.
• Preferred: CI/CD, orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect), and AI-assisted analytics workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own and guide the vision, roadmap, and execution for analytics engineering, including data models, semantic layers, BI tooling, and pipelines.
• Hire, manage, and develop analytics engineers with clear career ladders and performance practices.
• Set standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, code review, deployment, and data quality.
• Review complex dbt models, optimize SQL, and troubleshoot high-priority pipelines.
• Act as a senior technical partner for data modeling and metric governance across the organization.
• Collaborate with leaders across Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Product, and GTM to translate needs into a roadmap.
• Build governed, reliable data foundations to support company-wide decision-making and AI initiatives.
