Job summary

Pearson seeks a Software Engineering Team Manager to lead four embedded teams (Prizm, Semantics, Transformation, Delivery Services) within PSG-CP. You’ll hire, mentor, and raise the bar for AI-first software engineering across content platforms, working closely with Product, Architecture, and business leaders to drive scalable, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering, solutions architecture, or technical customer-facing roles.
• 4+ years of people management with hiring and retention track record.
• Experience building teams from 0 to 1 and operating in production.

Responsibilities

• Set a high bar for technical talent, customer instincts, and AI-first engineering judgment.
• Provide technical mentorship and career growth for team members.
• Staff and oversee engagements with lines of business and allocate resources.
• Own delivery across multiple roadmaps and keep the platform reliable and scalable.
• Review architectures and code for enterprise reliability, security, and cost.
• Stay hands-on for discovery, prototyping, and production issue debugging.
• Build repeatable playbooks and internal knowledge to scale wins.
• Define OKRs linked to business outcomes and establish cadences for alignment.
• Partner with Product and Architecture to translate field insights into platform improvements.
• Represent the platform with senior stakeholders across lines of business.
