Job summary

Pearson is seeking a founding leader for PSG-CP platform engineering, embedding with key lines of business to ship production AI applications. You will hire and mentor engineers, set standards, and build playbooks while guiding platform direction with executives and product teams.

You will stay hands-on when needed, review architectures, and foster a culture of high performance, reliability, and cost-conscious delivery across Prizm, Semantics, Transformation, and Delivery Services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, or a technical customer-facing role.
• 4+ years of people management experience with hiring, developing, and retaining engineers.
• Experience building teams from 0 to 1 within production environments.

Responsibilities

• Set a high bar for technical talent, customer instincts, and AI-first engineering judgment.
• Staff and oversee engagements with lines of business across the portfolio.
• Own delivery across roadmaps, ensuring reliability, scale, and progress.
• Review architectures and code for production readiness and quality.
• Build repeatable playbooks, templates, and knowledge bases for field learnings.
• Define team OKRs and establish cadences to stay aligned and accountable.
