Job summary
Schneider Electric is seeking an Embedded Software & Controls Leader within Digital Energy Software to guide the next generation of intelligent edge controllers and software-defined platforms. You will lead a global team spanning HW, FW, cloud, and application software to deliver scalable, cybersecure building automation solutions.
You will partner with hardware, controls, cloud, and software teams to define architecture, drive end-to-end system designs, and advance edge-to-cloud strategies,
Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering management and technical leadership experience.
- Experience leading cross-functional HW and FW/embedded software teams.
- Hands-on experience architecting and delivering embedded/control products.
- Deep understanding of embedded systems, real-time software, and distributed control architectures.
- Experience with RTOS platforms such as ThreadX / Azure RTOS, FreeRTOS, or equivalent.
- Strong experience with embedded Linux and modern edge computing architectures.
- Deep knowledge of wireless technologies, communication stacks, networking, and IoT architectures.
- Experience with industrial/edge protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and related field and building automation communication technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Embedded SW/control platform organization, developing a high-performing team.
- Define the software architecture and technology roadmap for next-generation edge controllers and software-defined hardware platforms.
- Partner closely with HW, controls, cloud, and application software teams to create robust end-to-end system architectures.
- Drive product development from early architecture and prototyping through industrialization, manufacturing scale-up, deployment, and sustain.
- Establish strong engineering practices around architecture, development, CI/CD, automated testing, cybersecurity, reliability, observability, and lifecycle management.
- Lead the evolution of embedded platforms across RTOS and Linux-based architectures, balancing performance, determinism, security, maintainability, and scalability.
