Job summary

Digital Realty seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead design of software platforms, embedded control systems, and Edge AI for data-center infrastructure. You will work across OT, embedded hardware, cloud, ML, and automation, delivering scalable solutions for reliability and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have hands-on PLCs, embedded firmware, edge computing, and ML experience, with leadership skills to drive projects from concept to deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of production-grade software or embedded/industrial automation experience.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, Rust, Go, C#, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop industrial automation software and embedded applications for facility infrastructure.
• Develop PLC programs, HMI interfaces, SCADA integrations, and control solutions for cooling, power, and BMS.
• Create ML/Edge AI solutions for fault detection, predictive maintenance, and energy optimization.
• Develop firmware for embedded devices and real-time software for microcontrollers and ARM-based systems.
• Architect scalable software platforms, APIs, microservices, and edge computing applications.
• Collaborate with OT, facilities, and engineering teams to deploy automation solutions across data centers.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and evaluate new industrial AI technologies.
