Job summary

Mainspring Energy seeks an experienced Systems Engineering Manager - Embedded Controls to guide architectural definition, requirements breakdown, and systems integration of our electro-mechanical platform. You will own the Systems Engineering V-model across digital and control layers and partner with Mechanical and Electrical teams to ensure digital controls align with physical realities.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in complex connected physical systems with 2+ years in technical leadership/people management.
• Systems Mastery: owning the Systems V-model, ICDs, and system-level trade studies.
• Full-stack context: strong knowledge of closed-loop control theory, embedded real-time systems, and cloud architecture patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead top-down requirements engineering and allocate performance budgets, safety metrics, and ICDs.
• Manage a high-performing Systems and Controls team and align with Mechanical, Electrical, and Cloud teams.
• Oversee design, modeling, and validation of closed-loop control systems and state estimation.
