Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team to lead multiple AI-first initiatives that transform compliance and customer support processes at scale.

You will hire and coach managers, define technical direction, and oversee production LLM-based systems with strict guardrails and measurement. Strong champion of responsible AI and scalable architecture is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with >=5 years in management.
• Proven track record shipping production AI/LLM-based applications.
• Deep fluency in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience leading cross-functional AI/automation initiatives.
• Background in compliance, regulatory tech, or financial crime domains.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow a high-performing engineering organization.
• Set vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Agentic AI systems.
• Drive architecture and delivery of production AI systems with guardrails.
• Lead multiple parallel initiatives across compliance automation domains.
• Establish standards and AI adoption frameworks to accelerate shipping.
