Job summary

Homeport is seeking a Director of Acquisitions in Columbus, OH, to lead sourcing, evaluation, and funding preparation for development opportunities. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, business, finance, law, or urban planning or equivalent experience.
• A master’s degree is preferred in related fields such as housing and community development.
• Experience in affordable housing development and finance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Generate leads for new development sites and evaluate OHFA guidelines.
• Assess development sites for financial feasibility with VP of Real Estate Development.
• Analyze zoning and prepare schematic designs with a project’s architect.
• Negotiate purchase, service, and partnership agreements in early development.
• Prepare presentations for community groups and obtain zoning entitlements.
• Establish and maintain relationships with public officials and project stakeholders.
• Update financial models for developments from draft to funding submission.
• Prepare LIHTC and other funding applications.
• Provide direction and coaching when supervising staff.
• Stay current on housing policy, OHFA QAP, and Columbus financing guidelines.
