Job summary

CMHA seeks a Development Manager in Columbus, OH, to support acquisitions, financing, and rehab of affordable housing projects. You will work with VP/AVPs to secure LIHTC financing and other sources, manage closings, and coordinate across CMHA offices to hit Planning & Development targets.

The role emphasizes financial modeling, coordination with lenders and public agencies, and active participation in public meetings. Requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience in affordable/mixed-income/multifamily real estate development or equivalent.
  • LIHTC certification or other real estate finance/development certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist VP and AVPs in evaluating potential real estate acquisitions and developments and rehabilitation.
  • Assist in securing LIHTC financing from OHFA and other gap financing sources.
  • Assist in securing financing from federal, state, and local governments for developments.
  • Assist in obtaining construction, permanent, and other financing for acquisitions and rehab projects.
  • Assist in the closing process with various financing sources for each transaction.
  • Collaborate with CMHA teams to achieve Planning & Development goals.
  • Represent CMHA at public meetings related to development approvals.
  • Track projects post-financial closing using project management principles.
