Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority seeks a senior real estate development professional to evaluate acquisitions and rehab projects, secure LIHTC and other financing, and manage complex funding sources. The role requires strong financial modeling, pro forma analysis, and cross‑department coordination.

You will work with CMHA leadership to advance affordable housing initiatives, track projects, and participate in public meetings, ensuring alignment with agency goals and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Five+ years of related experience in affordable, mixed-income, and market-rate multifamily real estate development.
• LIHTC certification or other real estate finance/development certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the VP and AVPs in evaluating potential new real estate acquisitions and developments, and rehabilitation of existing properties, applying CMHA’s mission and financial modeling.
• Assist in securing LIHTC financing and other gap financing from OHFA for various developments and rehab projects.
• Assist in obtaining gap financing from federal, state, and local governments for developments and rehab projects.
• Assist in securing construction, permanent, and other financing from banks and financial institutions for acquisitions and developments.
• Assist in closing on financing sources for each real estate transaction.
• Collaborate with team members across CMHA offices to achieve Planning & Development goals.
• Attend public meetings related to approvals of development components.
• Track development projects post-closing using project management metrics and dashboards.
• Conduct evaluations of programs to measure CMHA goals and needs; gather and analyze data.
