Job summary

The Division of Anatomic Pathology at UPMC/UPSOM seeks a Director for the Head and Neck Pathology Center of Excellence. The appointment stream is academic clinical, with subspecialty training and an active scholarly portfolio.

The role includes leadership of the COE, collaboration with Surgical Pathology and Oncology teams, teaching fellows and residents, sign-out duties as needed, and active participation in translational research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have an M.D./DO and Board certified in Anatomic Pathology with specialty training and academic interest in Head and Neck Pathology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania is required.
• A good record of and commitment to scholarly activities and publications.

Responsibilities

• As the Head and Neck COE Director, oversee the functioning of Head and Neck Pathology operations.
• Work closely with the system Executive Vice-Chair for Anatomic Pathology.
• Represent the Dept. at COE meetings and at UPMC/Hillman Cancer Center.
• Represent the Dept. nationally and internationally.
• Mentor faculty and oversee mission and goals of the Dept.
• Teach Head and Neck Pathology fellows and Pathology residents.
• Sign out surgical pathology cases, as needed.
• Participate in research initiatives, as needed.

Education

MD/DO and Board certified in Anatomic Pathology
