Job summary

Escapology of Braintree LLC is seeking a Head Game Master to lead shifts, welcome guests, and run immersive escape experiences in a fast-paced setting. You’ll direct the team, assign games, reset rooms, and ensure the venue stays on schedule while delivering exciting pre-game instructions.

This role requires confident public speaking, strong customer-service skills, and the ability to train and support Game Masters and Hosts.

Responsibilities

You’ll welcome guests, set the scene, monitor multiple games, deliver clues, reset rooms, serve beverages, and celebrate every daring escape. When the Venue Manager is not present, you’ll take the lead by directing the team, handling guest concerns, and overseeing the venue.If you’re naturally outgoing, remain calm when things get busy, and enjoy helping a team succeed, this could be the perfect role for you.Your MissionServe as the lead team member during assigned shifts.Independently open and close the venue.Keep each shift organized, safe, and running on schedule.Direct and support Game Masters and Hosts throughout the shift.Assign games, room resets, cleaning duties, and other responsibilities.Help train new and existing team members.Welcome guests and build excitement for their adventure.Check guests in and deliver engaging pre-game instructions.Monitor and game master multiple escape rooms at once.Provide well-timed clues without giving away too much.Lead post-game conversations, take team photos, and celebrate with guests.Reset rooms accurately and efficiently for the next group.Respond professionally to guest questions and concerns.Assist with payments, refunds, discounts, and register reconciliation as authorized.Recommend additional games, beverages, and merchandise.Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.Complete required opening, closing, shift, and daily reports.Keep escape rooms, common areas, restrooms, and employee areas clean and guest-ready.Troubleshoot minor game, prop, and technology issues.Communicate important guest, team, maintenance, and operational concerns to the Venue Manager.You Might Be a Great Fit If YouAre confident, friendly, and comfortable speaking in front of groups.Enjoy creating fun and memorable guest experiences.Can lead a team while still jumping in to help wherever needed.Stay focused and composed when several things are happening at once.Take initiative without waiting to be told what needs to be done.Have strong communication, customer-service, and problem-solving skills.Can provide respectful direction and feedback to other team members.Pay close attention to details and can accurately reset games.Are comfortable using computers, reservation systems, email, and point-of-sale equipment.Have reliable transportation.Can work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.Are at least 18 years old.Previous customer-service, hospitality, entertainment, keyholder, or leadership experience is preferred. Escape-room experience is welcome but not required.A high school diploma or GED is preferred. TIPS certification is also preferred, but training will be provided.Employment is subject to successfully completing a background check and/or CORI screening.What to ExpectThis is a fast-paced, active position that requires regularly standing, walking, reaching, communicating with guests, and moving throughout the venue. You may occasionally need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
