Escapology North East Inc is seeking a confident and energetic Head Game Master to lead shifts and ensure the adventure runs smoothly at the Braintree venue in MA. You will manage the team, reset rooms, and deliver engaging clues to guests.

You will be responsible for welcoming guests, directing game flow, and maintaining high service standards while ensuring safety and schedule adherence during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts as the head team member, directing the Game Masters and Hosts.
• Independently open and close the venue and keep shifts organized and on schedule.
• Welcome guests, deliver pre-game instructions, and manage guest check-ins.
• Provide well-timed clues during games without giving away solutions.
• Address guest questions and concerns professionally, assist with payments and refunds as needed.

We’re looking for a confident, dependable, and energetic Head Game Master to lead shifts, support our team, and keep the adventure running smoothly.

This isn’t a job where you’ll spend your shift sitting behind a desk. You’ll welcome guests, set the scene, monitor multiple games, deliver clues, reset rooms, serve beverages, and celebrate every daring escape. When the Venue Manager is not present, you’ll take the lead by directing the team, handling guest concerns, and overseeing the venue.

Your Mission

• Serve as the lead team member during assigned shifts.
• Independently open and close the venue.
• Keep each shift organized, safe, and running on schedule.
• Direct and support Game Masters and Hosts throughout the shift.
• Assign games, room resets, cleaning duties, and other responsibilities.
• Help train new and existing team members.
• Welcome guests and build excitement for their adventure.
• Check guests in and deliver engaging pre-game instructions.
• Monitor and game master multiple escape rooms at once.
• Provide well-timed clues without giving away too much.
• Lead post-game conversations, take team photos, and celebrate with guests.
• Reset rooms accurately and efficiently for the next group.
• Respond professionally to guest questions and concerns.Assist with payments, refunds, discounts, and register reconciliation as authorized.
• Recommend additional games, beverages, and merchandise.
• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Complete required opening, closing, shift, and daily reports.
• Keep escape rooms, common areas, restrooms, and employee areas clean and guest-ready.
• Troubleshoot minor game, prop, and technology issues.
• Communicate important guest, team, maintenance, and operational concerns to the Venue Manager.

• Are comfortable using computers, reservation systems, email, and point-of-sale equipment.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Can work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Are at least 18 years old.

Previous customer-service, hospitality, entertainment, keyholder, or leadership experience is preferred. Escape-room experience is welcome but not required.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. TIPS certification is also preferred, but training will be provided.

Employment is subject to successfully completing a background check and/or CORI screening.

What to Expect

This is a fast-paced, active position that requires regularly standing, walking, reaching, communicating with guests, and moving throughout the venue. You may occasionally need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must also be able to frequently lift or move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
