Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a fast-paced frontline team and deliver exceptional customer service. You will supervise cashiers, assist with store operations, handle scheduling, training, and performance coaching while upholding security and accuracy at the register.

The ideal candidate is at least 18 with a HS diploma or GED and 1–2 years of cashiering experience, plus leadership training. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Be dependable and flexible with schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, positive attitude, and ability to interact with customers as a role model.
• Ability to operate front end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
• Strong communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized.
• Must lift/carry up to 30 lbs., and move grocery carts up to 35 lbs., with appropriate range.
• Strong numeracy and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cashiers and assist with operational issues.
• Provide direction/support to cashiers and courtesy clerks to ensure excellent customer service.
• Assist with customer issues at the register as needed.
• Schedule and oversee meal and rest breaks in compliance with policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training of new cashiers and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain security by monitoring exits and loss prevention practices.
