Housing Authority of Joliet (HAJ) is seeking a dedicated HCV Specialist to administer the Housing Choice Voucher program for clients in Joliet and Will County. You will handle eligibility, certifications, re-certifications and client communications, ensuring compliance with HUD, SEMAP, and HAJ policies.

The role requires strong math, record-keeping, and organizational skills, plus ability to read HUD regulations and lease documents. This on-site position offers stable hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and two years relevant housing/occupancy housing program experience or related work.
• HCV Certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, interview and process applicants seeking HCV program assistance and explain questions.
• Review applications, verify income, background, references and household composition for eligibility.
• May conduct program briefings for HAJ applicants/clients.
