Job summary

The Amarillo VA Medical Center is seeking an experienced physician to serve as Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) Medical Director within our Geriatric and Extended Care Service. The role combines senior clinical leadership with direct patient care to Veterans in home settings across Amarillo and satellite locations.

Ideal candidates are board-certified in geriatrics, internal medicine, or family medicine, with strong leadership skills and a dedication to interdisciplinary care.

Qualifications

• Board-certified physician with geriatrics, internal medicine, or family medicine training.
• Strong leadership and team-building experience.
• Experience with interdisciplinary care and home-based services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and clinical leadership for the HBPC program.
• Collaborate with program leadership on operations, staffing, and performance improvement.
• Ensure compliance with VA standards and accreditation processes.
• Supervise interdisciplinary care teams and oversee patient care plans.
• Promote education and mentorship within the HBPC program.
