Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Memory System Architect for the HBM Architecture team to define memory architectures that support AI, machine learning, and high‑performance computing workloads.

You will research advanced memory concepts, analyze AI accelerator architectures, and help shape product roadmaps while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role emphasizes performance modeling, memory hierarchy optimization, and hands‑on coding in Python, C++, CUDA, and TensorFlow.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of relevant experience in computer architecture or memory systems.
• Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent in Computer Architecture, Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
• Strong understanding of GPU, TPU, AI accelerators, or large-scale computing architectures.
• Knowledge of memory hierarchy concepts (HBM, DRAM, caches, storage) and memory performance optimization.
• Experience with performance modeling, architectural simulation, system analysis.
• Programming in Python, C++, and/or AI frameworks such as CUDA or TensorFlow.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and large language models (LLMs) such as Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate advanced memory architecture concepts for AI accelerators.
• Develop and analyze system-level models to assess performance, power, and scalability.
• Investigate memory hierarchy optimizations involving HBM, DRAM, cache, and interconnects.
• Evaluate architectural trade-offs and emerging technologies to support future product development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate findings into architecture recommendations and roadmaps.
