Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to generator sites across the region. The role involves operating a Tractor Trailer with various trailer types, performing pickups, and maintaining compliance with DOT hazmat requirements.

The position typically runs Monday–Friday with overnight shifts possible; weekends are generally off except for critical needs.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or able to obtain within 90 days from hire date.
• MVR must meet Company policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, tractors and box trucks.
• Perform LTL pickups and waste manifests.
• Maintain driver documents (logbooks, permits, trip reports).
• Comply with DOT regulations for hazardous waste transport (placarding, loading, labeling).
• Ensure safe operation and observe weight limits by state laws.
• Utilize company technology and apps as assigned by leadership.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip DOT/HAZWOPER inspections.
• Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Support site housekeeping and other duties as needed.
• May act as a technician on lab pack and field service projects.
