Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to generator sites in Class A trucks. You will operate various trailers, perform pickups, maintain logs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role includes overnight shifts and a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional weekends for critical needs. The position requires a valid Class A CDL with HazMat/Tanker endorsements, MVR that meets policy standards, and 40-hour HAZWOPER training.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• MVR meets company standards.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training on hire.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, tractor-trailers, and box trucks.
• Perform LTL pickups and route-based duties.
• Maintain logs, permits, trip reports, and waste manifests.
• Comply with DOT regulations for hazardous waste transport, including placarding and labeling.
• Observe state weight limit laws and safe driving practices.
• Utilize company mobile apps and technology as directed.
• Conduct DOT/MOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist in facility housekeeping and field service projects.
• Potentially function as a tech on lab pack/projects.
• Participate in Site Safety training and programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
