Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using class A trucks. The role may involve tractor-trailer and straight truck operations, with a schedule Monday–Friday and possible overnight shifts based on routes.

Most weekends/holidays are off except for critical business needs. The position requires HazMat and Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain them within 90 days, a valid CDL, and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, gravel trains, tractor-trailers and box trucks.
• Perform LTL pickups and bulk/containerized waste collections.
• Maintain driver documents: logbooks, permits, trip reports, waste manifests.
• Adhere to DOT regulations for hazardous waste handling, packaging, loading, segregation and labeling.
• Understand and apply state weight limit laws.
• Operate vehicle safely and in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Utilize company mobile apps and software for maintenance and routing.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required.
• Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and service quality.
• Maintain good housekeeping at facilities and sites.
• May perform as a field service technician on lab packs and related projects.
• Participate in Site Safety training and programs.
