Job summary

Republic Services in Anchorage, AK is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste, operating class B trucks and various trailers. You will perform pre/post trip inspections, maintain logs, and follow DOT regs for hazardous materials handling.

The role may require overnight shifts, occasional holidays, and a strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and customer service, with first-year bonuses of $1000 and $1500 at six months.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• MVR meets company policy standards.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform loading/unloading.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, and various trailers.
• Performs LTL pickups and maintains driver documents (logbooks, trip reports, manifests).
• Complies with DOT regulations for hazardous materials handling, placarding, loading, and labeling.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensures safe operations.
• Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and maintain site housekeeping.
• Possibility to perform lab-pack or field service tasks as needed.
