Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a HazMat Field Driver/Technician (CDL B) to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste from Altamont, NY, and surrounding sites. You will operate a variety of trucks, perform pickups, and ensure compliance with DOT hazmat regulations.

The role features a Monday–Friday schedule with potential overnight shifts; candidates must obtain hazmat/tanker endorsements if not already held and pass required training, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements, or able to obtain within 90 days.
• Must pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training on hire.
• MVR meets company policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, and box trucks for pickups.
• Perform LTL pickups and ensure proper load securement and labeling.
• Maintain driver documents (logbooks, trip reports, waste manifests).
• Complete DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and safety.
• Participate in Site Safety program and required training.
