Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A driver to transport hazardous waste to customer sites, with loading/unloading responsibilities and operation of vacuum/box trucks. Tanker endorsement required; manual transmission ability and OT may apply.

Role includes verifying loads, maintaining logs and documentation, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. Excellent customer communication is essential for timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation and safe practices.
• Familiar with government documents such as manifests.
• Perform trip inspections on equipment and loads to ensure safety.
• Comply with safety, transportation, and regulatory requirements.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions with guidance as needed.
• Check vehicles for mechanical and safety compliance before operation.
• Record and report vehicle defects, accidents, or damage.
• Maintain driver logs, bills of lading, and manifests.
• Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Load and unload trucks; deliver to customers with courteous service.
• Provide feedback to supervision on customer or mechanical issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
