Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking a CDL Class A driver to transport hazardous wastes nationwide within Illinois and surrounding states. You will load/unload, ensure safe cargo handling, and maintain logs and compliance with DOT regulations.

You must hold a valid CDL A with air brakes, Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, and be prepared for overtime, weekend work, and on-call shifts. Per diem and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A with airbrakes.
• Hazmat endorsement required.
• Tanker endorsement required.
• No auto restriction; must be able to operate manual.
• Overtime as required.
• Weekend work may be required; on-call schedule weekly.
• Ability to travel in Illinois and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: Oversee safe cargo handling, load securing, and trip inspections; comply with DOT and hazmat regulations and hours-of-service rules.
• Vehicle & Equipment Operation: Safely maneuver, operate, and inspect trucks and equipment (vacuum trucks, box trucks) during loading/unloading.
• Documentation & Reporting: Complete and maintain logs, manifests, bills of lading, and driver logs; report defects or delays promptly.
• Customer Service & Loading: Load, deliver, and unload materials professionally and on-time while communicating with customers and supervisors.
• Team Support: Train co-workers as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
