Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking a hazardous waste handler to perform routine tasks in moving solids and liquids under direct supervision. Responsibilities include loading/unloading containers, decontamination, and assisting with paperwork for transport and processing at the site.

The role requires basic communication skills, experience with material handling equipment, and a preference for candidates with 40-hour HAZWOPER training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–6 months of hazardous waste or chemical industry experience with forklift proficiency preferred.
• Ability to communicate through reading and writing.
• Trained in the use of material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers).
• Construct boxes/containers, label and load containers.
• Use tools such as impact wrenches, shovels and jackhammers.
• Transport hazardous waste within the facility as directed.
• Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums per guidelines.
• Complete paperwork for processing and transport between locations.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area.
• Inspect material handling equipment as directed.
• Assist in loading/unloading at designated sites with trained equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
