Job summary

Veolia is seeking a detail-oriented Material Handler to perform routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks, including loading/unloading containers, decontamination, repack/depack for incineration, and transport within a facility. Must show basic reading/writing skills and complete material handling training.

Prior 3–6 months in a related role and forklift proficiency are preferred. Benefits include comprehensive plans and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: 3–6 months in hazardous waste or chemical industry, forklift proficiency.
• Knowledge/abilities: reading and writing communication; trained in material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload containers of various sizes.
• Construct and label boxes/containers; load materials for processing or transport.
• Operate tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers.
• Move hazardous waste within facility; decontaminate and dispose per guidelines.
• Complete paperwork for transport between locations.
• Maintain clean, safe work area; perform housekeeping duties.
• Inspect material handling equipment as directed.
• Assist in repack and depack for incineration.
