Job summary

Clean Harbors is hiring a Field Services Technician I in Decatur, IL to support hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, and equipment decontamination in the field. The role requires physical work, operation of tools and equipment, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

On-site duties include handling hazardous materials, performing sampling, calibrations, and complying with DOT and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to perform physical functions as listed in key responsibilities.
• Emergency response may require extended hours, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Health and Safety as the top priority by following policies.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and various hand tools under supervision.
• Wear and use PPE properly in diverse conditions and environments.
• Work in varying temperatures, indoors and outdoors, in potentially hazardous settings.
• Support field sampling and calibration activities as needed.
• Climb ladders/scaffolding and access trucks, tanks and containers.
• Be on-call for emergency response on rotating schedule.
