Job summary

Clean Harbors, Inc. in Elgin, IL is seeking an Environmental Field Laborer to join our safety-conscious team. You will perform tasks related to hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, willingness to participate in emergency response duties, long shifts with overtime, and travel to out-of-town assignments. Training is provided, with pay and expenses covered.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and ability to perform physical tasks as required by responsibilities.
• Willingness to participate in emergency response and extended shifts, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies to maintain a risk-aware work environment.
• Perform strenuous physical labor and operate light/heavy equipment and PPE.
• Handle hazardous materials, decontamination tasks, and field sampling as needed.
• Work in various weather conditions and potentially elevated noise levels.
• Be on-call for emergency response on rotating basis.
