Job summary

Clean Harbors in West Sacramento, CA is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety‑driven team. The role covers hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials in the field.

Responsibilities include maintaining health and safety standards, operating equipment, performing field sampling, and complying with DOT and environmental regulations. On‑call emergency response is required on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous work
• Willingness to work in field conditions and varied weather
• Ability to operate PPE and safety protocols at all times
• Emergency response readiness and on‑call rotation participation

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies to ensure Health and Safety as the top priority
• Engage in physical labor including lifting and moving heavy objects
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use hand tools and powered tools
• Wear and use PPE properly (respirators, protective gear)
• Work outdoors in various temperatures and weather conditions
• Handle hazardous materials with care and follow regulatory requirements
• Calibrate meters and assist in field sampling activities
• Climb ladders/scaffolding and access tanks or trucks as needed
• Be available for on‑call emergency response on rotating schedule
