Job summary

Republic Services seeks an Environmental Services (ES) Field Technician I to support emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous spill cleanup, and hazmat decontamination under close supervision. You will perform tank cleaning, decontamination, and general remedial activities with focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents such as operational, technical, process, safety, and quality instructions.
• Knowledge of chemicals and ability to understand safety data sheets to mitigate hazards.
• Willingness to provide input on working practices to meet department goals and collaborate safely.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, and related remedial activities.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after normal business hours.
• Ensures safety policies are followed and equipment is maintained and used properly.
• Sets up and operates equipment such as pumps, generators, air compressors, and light towers.
