Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Solutions Field Technician I to support emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous spill cleanup, and hazmat decontamination under close supervision.

The role involves operating pumps, generators, air compressors, light towers, and other equipment, performing cleaning tasks, and ensuring safety compliance while delivering reliable environmental services to customers.

Qualifications

• Experience with light and heavy equipment
• HazWOPER training within 40 hours or upon hire
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Experience in hazardous/non-hazardous spill cleanup
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, cleaning work areas.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after hours.
• Maintains equipment and work site housekeeping.
• Adheres to safety policies and regulations governing job performance.
• Sets up and uses equipment (pumps, generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet-jack, skid steer) seamlessly.
