Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a field technician to support hazardous waste cleanup, spill response, and decontamination tasks. You will operate under supervision, perform demanding physical duties, and adhere to strict safety standards in varied environments.

The role requires flexibility for rotating shifts, potential travel, and ability to wear PPE for extended periods. A valid driver’s license is required, and candidates will undergo standard pre-employment screenings and background checks.

Qualifications

• Remediation of cleanup regarding hazardous waste and materials.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and alcohol testing.
• Must pass pre-employment background screening.
• Must pass OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training.
• May require Transportation Worker (TWIC) clearance within 45 days if applicable.
• Able to read, write, and understand English and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Remediate cleanup under supervision for hazardous waste and materials.
• Prioritize health and safety by following all policies and practices.
• Perform tasks such as confined space entry, tank cleaning, and decontamination.
• Work rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays; on-call as scheduled.
• Travel out of town as needed; work in adverse conditions and wear PPE.
