Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services Field Technician I to support emergency response, spill cleanup, and hazmat decontamination tasks. The role involves hands-on work with pumps, generators, air compressors, and other equipment in a safety‑conscious environment.

The position requires the ability to read technical instructions, knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets, and a proactive stance on safe practices. Training may be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents such as safety and process instructions.
• Knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets for hazard mitigation.
• Willingness to provide input on safe working practices.
• Proficiency with light tablet/PC use.
• Skilled with hand and shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination and related tasks.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after hours.
• Maintains equipment and work site housekeeping.
• Follows safety policies and regulations in all duties.
• Sets up and uses equipment such as pumps, generators, compressors, light towers, pallet-jack, skid steer.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
